Role

Dragon Sentinel

Appearance

Towering and broad, Grendar carries a natural authority that has nothing to do with rank. Bronze scales catch light differently depending on the angle; amber-gold eyes hold a steadiness that doesn't waver under pressure. Scaled forearms and a noble bearing — the bearing of someone raised in a warrior culture who never needed to perform it.

Abilities

  • Elite guard training — Red Sands and Elyndor combined disciplines
  • Tactical command — natural battlefield leadership and coordination
  • Latent dragonblood resistance to corruption — instinctive, not fully understood
  • Rumored cleansing properties — dark forces treat him as a threat for a reason
  • Animus anchor for Xandor — holds the chimera's mind during dangerous rituals

Costs & Stakes

Duty and devotion are in conflict: following Xandor beyond Elyndor means leaving the city he was sworn to protect. His family's legacy is not a gift so much as a burden — the cleansing blood in his veins makes him a target for every dark force that would rather not be cleansed. Outside the wards, that vulnerability is real and constant.

Tome I → Tome II Arc

Grendar serves Tome I as a city sentinel and loyal anchor, dependable within the walls of Elyndor. In Tome II he moves beyond them, taking on the role of road protector as his heritage and his loyalty are tested in equal measure by what waits outside.
