Rogue Engineer
Appearance
Wiry and precise, Tork is rarely without his goggles and an oil-smudged kit that has seen better days. He wears a high-collared jacket and a scarf that catches the wind in a way that looks almost heroic — almost. Sometimes a battered top hat completes the ensemble. His quick, careful hands are the truest thing about him.
Abilities
- ◆Arc-blade — engineered weapon with precision cutting and shock capability
- ◆Traps and contraptions — field-improvised devices for combat and infiltration
- ◆VIRIEL legacy components — carries the half-core, enabling limited interface
- ◆Field improvisation — solves problems with whatever is available
- ◆Intuitive engineering problem-solving — reads mechanical and magical systems quickly
Costs & Stakes
Exile from Steamford means Tork operates without institutional support, always one step ahead of people who want what he carries. Viriel draws powerful attention — the kind he cannot fight directly. Working with only the half-core leaves the system unstable, unpredictable. And Selinda's disappearance isn't background detail; it is the wound that drives everything he does.
Tome I → Tome II Arc
Tork begins Tome I as an outlaw operating on the margins, useful but guarded. By the end he has become a core ally. In Tome II the Viriel and Selinda threads converge, pulling him straight into the Ethereal Web's central mystery — a place where his engineering instincts will matter as much as any combat magic.
